Proper product identification is dependent on obtaining and interpreting the model and serial number. These will be found stamped on top of the transmission housing at the left front corner.

Early agricultural and industrial model numbers (1955 - 1962) consisted of three digits followed in some cases by an alpha or numeric suffix. The first digit designates the engine size and tractor type, the second digit the transmission type and the third digit the year range of the series.

Later tractor model numbers (1962 - 1964) consisted of five digits followed in some cases by an alpha or numeric suffix. The first digit designates engine size: the second digit, successive models; the third and fourth digits, tractor type; and the fifth digit, transmission/PTO/hydraulic type.

1955 - 1962

5** - One row, 8" offset design equipped with 134 CID gasoline or LP gas or 144 CID diesel engine.

6** - Four wheel, adjustable axle design equipped with 134 CID gasoline or LP gas or 144 CID diesel engine.

7** - High clearance row crop type equipped with 134 CID gasoline or LP gas or 144 diesel engine.

8** - Four wheel, adjustable axle design equipped with 172 CID gasoline or LP gas or diesel engine.

9** - High clearance row crop type equipped with 172 CID gasoline or LP gas or diesel engine.
